Whether you have a fixed design in mind, a vague of idea of something you’d like, or would like us to design something for you – from engagement rings through to necklaces, bangles or earrings – our bespoke commission service is an exciting and unique experience.
The process is carried out over a few different stages – we often compare it to having wedding dress fittings.
The first appointment is when we go through the design of the piece which involves showing you samples and pictures of jewellery we have already made. We try to get an idea of what you do and don’t like, and what your requirements for the piece are. In this appointment we also cover materials and metals that will be used, and give you a price for all of the work involved.
We then invite you back for a second appointment at which point we will show you drawings and sketches that we have made. During this appointment we also show you a selection of gemstones or diamonds that we will have sourced (if required) and explain the differences in them. Once you are happy with the design and gemstones, we can begin work on the piece.
The third appointment takes place when we have made the metal part of the job. We ask you to come in and try it on before any of the gemstones or diamonds are set into it. This enables us to ensure that you are happy with the sizes and dimensions and make any alterations at this stage if necessary.
The final stage is collecting your finished piece that has been uniquely handmade for you. If the piece is a surprise gift and needs re-sizing once it has been given, we will alter it for free.
If you already have diamonds, gemstones or metals that you would like to use, then we offer a remodelling service – see here for details.
